      Do You Believe in Fun?

Are you sharing your values and your beliefs every chance you get, with both your employees and your customers? Here's an example, from a label on a pair of French Dressing Jeans my wife recently bought:

       WE BELIEVE
  • In healthy living, having fun and Chardonnay
  • Every woman is unique
  • You should celebrate your curves
  • Clothes should enhance your best qualities
  • Comfort should not be at the expense of fabulous
  • In easy care, easy wear and easy elegance
  • In giving back
At the bottom of the label they listed their website and the message: Supporting the Fight for the Cure (a charity supporting the fight against breast cancer).  It's a simple, but effective way to add a bit of fun, tell customers what you stand for, and demonstrate your commitment to giving back, all in one foul swoop. Or at least, on one small jeans label.

Now, you don't have to get all fancy pants about it. Post your beliefs on a whiteboard in the lunchroom or the entrance to your business, list them on your voicemail, or share them at the start of every meeting. Do whatever it take to reinforce and evangelize your beliefs anywhere and everywhere!

    Mike's Fun at Work Tip

Hand out stick-em-on name tags at the start of one day OR at the start of a meeting and have everyone draw a self-portrait of themselves on them. Simple, but always good for a few laughs!
