I am a huge fan of culture guidebooks that define cultural norms for new employees in engaging ways, so I love the "Way of Helcim" culture book created by the Calgary-based tech company Helcim.
The
book (which you can read here) opens with this welcome: "A first day on a new job is typically filled with a mixture of excitement, nervousness and a healthy dose of imposter-syndrome. Take a deep breath and know that we recognized something great in you. And we're here to help you achieve it."
The Way of Helcim talks about so many of the fabulous culture-building elements we explore here: the power of love in business, doing the right things even when it's harder, the importance of trust and teamwork, the idea that conflict is healthy, communication expectations, and so much more.
