Happy everything everyone! This is my last newsletter before 2026, so as we complete another orbit around the sun, it's the ideal time to review and celebrate the year that was.
So here once again are my
annual review questions you can use with your team or your family. Have everyone share:
1. Their top three successes/highlights/wins of the year. 2. The top three things for which they are most grateful. 3. The top three things they are looking forward to in 2026.
4. One funny thing that happened to them this year.
If you have time for the extended play version, then toss some of these questions into
your review salad:
If you could summarize the year in just one word, what word would you use?
What's the biggest obstacle you overcame this year?
What is something you did that scared you at the time?
What are you most proud of from last year?
What new skill did you learn?
What was one thing you learned about yourself this year?
Who made a positive difference in your life?
What surprised you the most this past
year?
Who inspired you the most this past year?
What was your favorite book, movie, or TV show from the past year?
I wish you, your colleagues, and your families a safe, healthy, joyous, and humor-filled holiday season and nothing but the absolutely best of the best for 2026!
Mike's Fun at Work Tip
I am legally obliged to deliver my annual reminder that tomorrow, December 18, is Answer the Phone Like Buddy the Elf Day.
All you need to do (especially when your boss phones) is answer the phone with: "Your name the
elf, what's your favorite color?"
Quote of the Week
