The annual "Dance your PhD" contest was held a few weeks ago. Yes, this is an actual thing. This year's winner is Sulo Roukka from the University of Helsinki, Finland, who channeled his inner Kylie Minoque to dance his study on food science. (Specifically, if you're curious, "Insights into oral chemesthetic perception: A focus on
food-related behavior.")
Now I'm certainly not going to suggest you mimic this idea in your workplace. Actually, that is exactly what I am going to suggest. Why the heck not? Why not liven up your next corporate retreat or meeting by having everyone do just one minute of dance before they deliver their presentation? Award prizes for bravery, for the most original, and
the dance that best matched the content of the presentation.
