I'm certain that many of you are facing an unprecedented level of uncertainty right now. So, if you're a little uncertain about how to cope with uncertainty, I'm certain that these uncertainty tips could certainly help. 

• Embrace a can control/can't control mindset: Focus as much as possibly only on the things you have 100% control over, which is usually far more than we tend to think. 
• Invest in more open and honest communication. It is thought that leaders under-communicate by a factor of ten times during periods of immense uncertainty. 
• Stay true to your vision. How you reach your goals might have to change, but don't let uncertainty derail your goals.  
• Stay true to your values. During uncertainty, your values can be tested, but this is the time to hold firm to what truly matters and to use your values as guideposts when making decisions like never before. Talk openly about your values. Revisit them in meetings. Bring them to life like never before. 
• Channel hope: Not by clinging to blind optimism that everything will just magically work out, but by channeling the type of hope that reminds you and your colleagues that you have the skills, the mindset, the know how, and the resources to get you through whatever might be headed your way.  
• Get curious. My friend and speaking colleague Jennifer Spear studied uncertainty during the global pandemic and found the secret to embracing uncertainty is something we can all leverage - our natural curiosity. When we are curious it becomes far more difficult to be anxious, angry, or judgmental. During times of uncertainty Spear suggests asking questions such as, "I wonder what this means?" or "I wonder why this is happening?" And then get curious about solutions by asking "How might we...?" and "What if...?"
