I have a quirky question for you: What's the quirkiest question you've been asked lately? Also, if you were a pie, which flavor of pie would you be and why?
I'm a huge fan of off-the-beaten-path questions that spark interesting
conversations and build deeper connections. Posing fun questions can also help you grow your sense of humor and having a few quirky questions in your back pocket can be a great tool for introverts who dread the thought of meeting new people. Or old people. Or, you know, people.
According to an article in Inc. Magazine, banning small talk from conversations and instead asking interesting questions also makes you happier!
Here are a few of my
favorite questions cited in the article, along with a few of my own. I'd also love to hear your questions: What interesting questions do you ask to get to know someone better?
If you had the opportunity to meet one person you haven't met who would it be, why, and what would you talk about?
What do you value more, intelligence or common sense?
What movie is your favorite guilty pleasure, and why?
What's the most important thing I should know about you?
If you had a magic wand, what would you change about your job?
What do you think people tend to get wrong about you when they first meet you?
What did
you want to be when you were 10 years old?
If you could do anything you wanted tonight what would you do and why?
