This Friday, October 4, is Improve Your Office Day, so why not use this as inspiration to generate some simple ideas that will help improve your office. Here are some questions you could ask as a team that might help, because, you know, I like to be helpful.
If we spent just $500 on something to improve our office, what would be the best investment? (Often creating a limit like this fuels more creative ideas!)
What's one thing we could all commit to start doing that would improve the overall office?
What's one thing we could all commit to stop doing that would improve the office?
What's everyone's #1 pet peeve about the office and how could we minimize or
eliminate it?
Can we hold a 3-in-3 challenge and challenge everyone to come up with 3 ideas over the course of the next 3 weeks that would improve our office?
Would adding a badger to the office help? (Spoiler alert: It will not.)
What could we use/get that would be a fun office mascot for us that would reflect our company values?
Could we add some fun/funny signs throughout the office?
Would an office Golden retriever puppy
help the office (Spoiler alert: It's a far better idea than the badger.)
How might we implement a system for dealing with ongoing office issues that arise?
What's one thing, just one thing, which would make coming into our office a little more welcoming or FUN?
Mike's Fun at Work Tip
In honor of today being official Name Your Car Day why not use this as a fun icebreaker at your morning huddle or next team meeting. And if your workplace has official company cars, well obviously you need to hold a naming contest to come up with individual names for each car!
